Each year people visit Glastonbury from all four corners of the world to experience the greatest festival on earth. This award wining festival has many top artists performing as well as other attractions that will please everyone. The festival grows in appeal and attraction each year and you will find that Glastonbury 2010 is to be no exception and is rumoured to be the best one in history.
Extra celebrations this year for Glastonbury as it is celebrating its 40th anniversary. Something that has been going for that long has got to be good! There are rumours all around the media that the band Pulp will be reuniting especially for this event, giving a live performance in an atmosphere that cannot be beaten anywhere else.
Not only does the festival show many bands that have made it to the top of the charts and into your CD collection, you will also find up and coming bands that have not been signed yet. Imagine being there, seeing them at their first big performance, the place they were discovered. See the raw talent before the TV appearances and have the honour of becoming one of their first fans.
The tickets sell out within hours of them being on sale, this shows the popularity of the event which has left many camping outside the ticket offices all night so that they can have a place at this great event. Unfortunately the first lot of sold tickets have sold out, however there have been cancellations and these tickets will go out to those who missed out on the opportunity at the beginning of the year.
If you have been to other festivals and are going to Glastonbury this year you will feel that the others are nothing in comparison. Stages are all around the area meaning that no matter your tastes in entertainment you are bound to find something to occupy you throughout your stay. All the stages mean that even if the one you are near to is not what you are into you only need to take a stroll to one of the other events to get you into the mood.
The stage renowned for the performances of those best known in the public eye is the pyramid stage. You will find that throughout your stay there are many artists that have frequented the charts on many occasions and continue to do so are performing here. However don’t just stick to the one stage, look around, this is what the festival is all about and you don’t want to miss out on what the other entertainment areas have to offer.
The festival is all about getting together with like minded people and enjoying yourself, people of all ages meet new people here and have friendships that continue even after the festival has ended.
If getting to one with nature is not your idea of fun, but you would still like in on the action, then there are lots of options of accommodation that do not involve pitching your tent. You can stay at one of the B&B’s or go all out in one of the fully catered hotels in the area, and who knows? You may be having breakfast with the next big performance.
If you are a film buff you definitely need to go and see the film tent. There are films all day long and into the evening that will entertain the most fussiest of people of all ages. The morning is usually the time when the viewing is for young kids, and of course the big kid in all of us and some of the showings are in 3D so you can get right in on the action without even moving.
Going to festivals is always a great enjoyment. If you do not know this, going to festivals in other countries is even more enjoyable, so you may want to make sure that you are at Glastonbury 2010, so check out the Glastonbury Lineup.
